ITINERARY
day 1: WELCOME TO JOBURG!
You’re finally here! We’ll whisk you away from JNB Airport after your arrival into the city and take you to your 5-star accommodations in one of Joburg’s premier neighborhoods. After you get settled into your new digs, we’ll introduce you to the rest of your crew for the week; an intimate group of individuals from all over the world ready to experience Johannesburg’s culture and history. As a group, we’ll all head to our welcome dinner and kick off our new journey together.
day 2: soweto!
The best way to get to know a destination is by gaining a bit of its history. We’ll start off the day with a private tour of the historic Constitution Hill and head to one of the highest points in the city for a 360° view of everything Joburg has to offer. We’ll also be visiting Soweto, a township that gives you a deep dive into South Africa’s roots. We’ll stop by Nelson Mandela’s home, stroll down the popular Vilikazi St. and take a scenic bike ride through Orlando, a community within the Soweto township. For the adventurous traveler, you’ll get a chance to prove yourself by bungee jumping from the city’s famous Orlando Towers (optional)!** Afterwards, we’ll enjoy some traditional South African cuisine and take a trip through time at South Africa’s renowned Apartheid Museum.
day 3: JOBURG & CHILL
Now that you’ve got your feet wet in Joburg, today’s the perfect opportunity to discover some of the things that make the city so great. Get to know your new travel companions, check out that cool spot your friends back home recommended, stop by Braamfontein, shop for some vintage finds at 27 Boxes in Melville, catch a local vibe at Neighbourgoods Market, pick up some art from the African craft market in Rosebank, or hang out with a glass of wine poolside at our hotel. Today is your day to do as you please
The day was yours, but the night is ours! Tonight, we’re taking you on a VIP experience at one of the city’s best kept secrets to groove to some afro-house vibes over great food & drinks and even better company!
DAY 4: brunch with a view
We'll be ending our weekend on a high note with a journey to a secret location for a champagne brunch with a South African twist.
Afterwards, we'll head to Maboneng, Joburg’s premier cultural enclave to immerse ourselves within this vibrant pocket of the city. We’ll meet up with one of Maboneng’s leading visionaries to explore the neighborhood ranked by Forbes as one of the “coolest in the world.” After savoring more local fare, we’ll cool down at one of the hottest rooftop parties the city has to offer.
day 5: ALL THE WAY UP!
Today kicks off bright and early as we head out of Joburg to become one with nature. Just a short distance outside of the city limits, we'll take you on a hot air balloon ride that will take your breath away. We'll have breakfast and head back into the city.
You’ll have some time of your own to connect with your new friends, explore the city’s culinary scene, indulge yourself with a spa day or visit some of the local shops.
DAY 6: SAFARI SITUATIONS
Today, we'll head just a short distance outside of the city limits to take a hike at a UNESCO World Heritage Site and learn about the different tribes who call South Africa home. We'll have lunch and head on a safari to catch a peek at some of the Big 5!
In the evening, we'll come together one last time for a celebratory dinner. Let our last meal together as a travel crew be a time to reflect on the unforgettable week Joburg gave you, and for the memorable experience you gave yourself.
DAY 7: IT'S SO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE
We know, it feels like you just got here, but it’s time to say goodbye. Use today to check off those final items on your list for the city before it’s time to head home. The week may have flown by, but the memories and personal connections you've made will last forever.
